Macbook Pro HDD & RAM upgrade

Recent RAM price has been dropped. I also try to upgrade my harddisk and RAM in the Macbook Pro 2009. It is originally 160GB 2.5" harddisk and 1GB DDR3 RAM. 

I chose OCZ 120GB green version and Kingston 4GB DDR3 x2. This Macbook Pro limits the RAM to 8GB. 

The way to open the back cap of the Macbook Pro is already easily searched from the internet. 

Unfortunately, the screws of the fixture of the harddisk are still T6 screw in this 2009, but not usual "+" ones. You may buy any screw driver set from shop. It looks like a star, similar but not really. 

I had created the boot USB drive. After the new blank harddisk is installed, just plug in the USB drive and select install Mac OS X Lion. You need to first upgrade to Mac OS X Lion first. 

iMovie projects lost after iMovie 09' update

After the update of iMovie 09' under the OS X Lion, I lost all the iMovie project!!!

The projects file are there but you cannot see them in the project window of iMovie. The project window is empty. After searching in the internet, I finally found the method to fix.

佩服Apple的決心﹣沒有DVDRW的Macbook Pro

當全世界都認為愈高規格的Notebook理應把最多的功能都集中在一起，Apple就偏偏把DVDRW刪除了，全身投入cloud，依頼internet及memory card的new generation了！

因此，他們才成功再把接近一寸厚的機身造得再薄一點，接近0.7吋。

這個決心，佩服！

Upgrade harddisk in Macbook Pro

最近HDD回軟，趁機換一下HD，把Macbook Pro的120GB HDD換成SSD，順道把2G RAM加一下，做好Time Machine backup後，就要找一只空白的USB手指做recovery disk, 打過去Apple 問，升級到Lion後，還可以不做recovery disk, 只要連上網，開機時按Alt+Commond+R也可以做online recovery，強！

Load好Lion後，要在Disk Utility做好single GUID partition才可以從time machine restore.
