If you are using a Jailbreaked iPod Touch, and if you downloaded WhatsApp Messenger V2.6.7 from Installous and if you met the problem of "Cannot connect to server", please try search and install "Whats Pad".
I cannot explain why and I succeeded to key in the phone number and use as usual as older version of WhatsApp.
