A closer step to Apps

Frankly though I have changed to Mac from PC last year. I am still know nothing about Apple Apps, because I don't have a iPhone.

Last week my wife bought a iPod Touch and now I am step closer to Apps. Can I write an Apps soon for fun? I found there is free tutorial in the internet. Awesome!
